Bring your $15 bottle of RED WINE to a meeting

We seem to have plenty of white wine so please bring RED if possible.  Bring your bottle of wine (valued at $20 or less) to one of our lunch meetings in the next three weeks. The wine will be served at our Oktoberfest next month. Be sure to put a small label or piece of tape with your name on the bottle so I can track who has brought a bottle.

Thanks!
Matt Buehler
Know Your Rotarian - Alexis Riggs
Who shed her "crimson" badge for blue today!
Alexis owns two Orange Theory Fitness locations in Reno and will open a third before long.  In past lives she has been a marketing and PR professional, seller of fine printing paper and full time promoter of the Alabama Crimson Tide.  OK she is still a full time Tide Roller.  She has been married to Russ for 17 years and they have two dogs.  Surprise!  Alexis was not born in the south but Denver.  She has lived in Reno for 2 years and joined Rotary after visiting our club with her sponsor Dan Carne.  And RSR is proud that she did.
Oktoberfest 2017 happens September 23rd
Ann Potts and Matt Buehler are running the Silent Auction this year.  Silent Auction items are the key to our fund raising success.  Check out the Silent Auction email sent previously.  It will lead you through an easy process to choose the auction item you want to give.  You can buy your item or solicit a donation.  Save the date and jump to help when asked.
Speaker David Crumbley
David is a past president of Reno Central and a key champion of the "Bridges out of Poverty Program."  He thanked RSR for its strong support through members:  Ali Conner, Ann Potts, Ann's daughter Johanna, Jonnie Pullman and Kate Nickolls. Our support has been key to its success.

The class of 10 which we helped mentor has made great progress toward financial independence:  70% increased income for the group, 50% working toward High School Equivalency Cert, and many more measurable accomplishments.   Success through this program takes dedication from those being mentored and the volunteers who show them a new path.  Thank you David for sharing this success story and thank you to our fellow Rotarians who stepped up to serve through this effort.
