President Doug Rands begins his year
Doug gave us a very thoughtful overview of his vision for his year.  An attorney for 30 years, he is married with three grown daughters, speaks Japanese, is active in his church and is learning to play bass guitar.  He believes in the good work of Rotary and is excited to have the opportunity to lead Reno South Rotary as it does its part.  Welcome Doug!
Paul Penttila spoke on the benefits of Scouting
Scouting instills ethics in today's youth while giving them a chance to experience new things.  Merit badges are offered for more than knot tying and campfire building - how about nuclear science or motion picture production?  Scouting can use your support whether through time or treasure.  Contact them through this link if you wish to help  Nevada Area Boy Scout Council
Dave Galloway is home!
Dave continues his hard work to learn new ways to do things and get stronger.  We all look forward to seeing him back at a meeting when he is ready.  And we hope that day comes sooner than later.
Oktoberfest 2017 happens September 23rd
Adrienne Thomley is leading the effort.  Silent Auction items are the key to our fund raising success so think of something that you would like to have and go get it.  You can buy it or ask for a donation.  Save the date and jump to help when asked.
Know Your Rotarian

Look for President Doug's "Know Your Rotarian" game.  He has a plan to ask you to get up and share some fun information about yourself with the club.  He will be explaining it over the next few meetings so be ready to talk a little when your number comes up.  You might even win the quarterly prize!

President Doug drew a good crowd and did a great job leading us in his first meeting.  His computer worked.  He had something to say and he is off to a great start.  Thank you all for coming and we hope to see you all there next week.

Bring a guest this week!
REMEMBER, the RSR membership growth initiative:  You can now bring a bona fide prospective member as your guest to two meetings and the Club will pay for the guest's lunch.  After that you need to start the membership application process.
