Rotary Theme for December:
Family of Rotary

December 15 - Ashley Taylor, RMA, Care Management for an aging Population (that's all of us, actually)  Ashley presented information about what kinds of services are offered, not only in her company, but others in the area.  Helping folks navigate our complicated medical system and advocacy are two important services.  This is a growing business, taking care of the aging!

More about the meeting...

RSR really knows how to celebrate the holiday--just ask Co-President Press, with his "Prestive" wardrobe...)

President Tori presented Bailey (editor has no last name) with a check of $115 for the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening) Bike Project, where attendees assemble bikes and spend time with area youth.  The project is partnering with Amazon and Scheel's.  Baily attended RYLA in 2016, and is now co-director of her program and in medical school!

Liz Heiman celebrated a safe return from Cody, Wyoming, where she served as "dance grandma" (you have to ask her...)

Jonnie Pullman shared a picture of her RYE-grandson shoveling snow in Vienna at age 4.

Chris Wagner told us something about deferred baseball and son Jason, but your editor cannot read the notes...

Matt Buehler shared some trials and tribulations of money on the campaign trail and other financial woes, but he paid his "fines" anyway!

Don't forget to invite our RYE student Isabella (from Spain) to family and other activities--we are her family while she is here!

The Rotary Club of Reno South has regular meetings on the first and third Thursdays, and are nomadic--so check in for meeting location!

For now scheduled for 4:15 at Macaroni Grill, 5505 S. Virginia (at the SW corner of McCarran)

Victoria Ortiz

Jan  5 - Victoria Ortiz, Community Engagement Manager for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.  Videos and pictures of the area about different focus topics concerning the Tahoe Basin, including but not limited to planning issues.  This is a very informative presentation--please join us.

Jan 1 - Rose Bowl Parade
In November the Board approved a $100 donation to the Rotary float in the Parade.  It's a great avenue to promote Rotary, so if you watch the Parade, please look for it.

Jan 19 - Grant Denton, Karma Box Project

April - Wine Bus Trip

Service Project for January - Holiday Tree Recycling
Everyone received an invitation to participate in our service project recycling trees in coordination with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful. We want to have 8 of us there (many hands make less work) from 12:45 pm - 5 pm on Sunday, January 8.

The event is at the Reno Sports Complex on N. Virginia Street just north of the intersection with McCarrran Blvd.  Please respond to the invitation so we can plan for snacks!  Or, if you don't have the invitation, let Bob know at rotarystewart@gmail.com or at 401.529.7324.

We will have fun AND help our community.
