You and a guest are invited to attend the District 5190-Area 8 Foundation Dinner scheduled on Friday, March 24 at the Nugget Casino Resort in the Orozko Restaurant. The featured guest speaker will be Irene Perbal. Ms. Perbal's topic will be "Hope and Hate" - Holocaust Remembrance. Irene Perbal will present the story of her family's life in Holland under Nazi occupation. Ms. Perbal's firsthand accounts of her family's efforts to protect the local Jewish community is both poignant and inspiring. "Everyone knew that whoever helped a Jew would be treated like one," Perbal said. The story of her family, which gave sanctuary in their own house to Dutch Jews fleeing Nazi persecution, is as extraordinary as her own story. Ms. Perbal is a nationally recognized speaker and historian dedicated to preserving the firsthand history of this dark time. What: Distirct 5190-Area 8 Foundation Dinner When: Friday, March 24: 5:30 pm Reception with a No Hose Bar; 6:15 pm Dinner. Entree selections: Herb Crusted Chicken, Pan Seared Salmon, or Mushroom Tortellini. Where: Nugget Casino Resort - Orozko Cost: $65.00 per person. Dear Reno South Rotary Members and Friends, Reno South Rotary is pleased to announce the return of the Annual Wine Tasting (and purchasing) Trip into the Sierra Foothill and Lodi regions on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23, 2023. You, your spouse, significant other, friends and family are cordially invited to attend this year's trip. On Saturday we'll visit four wineries in the Lodi region followed by a restaurant dinner. Of course, we will partake in two gourmet luncheons at two selected wineries with Kent and Kimberly's Mediterrean style of meats, cheeses, sourdough bread, BBQ sausages and a variety of beverages. Sunday, we may stop at Lockeford Meats for your selection of a variety of deli sausages and cheeses. Bring an ice chest to keep your purchases fresh. We'll visit three or four wineries in the Amador/El Dorado County area on Sunday as well. Departure: Atlantis west parking lot at 7:15 AM on Saturday morning. Return: Atlantis west parking lot on Sunday evening by 7:00 pm. The cost will be approximately $300 per person (double occupancy) due to increased costs of hotels and transportation, which includes: round-trip transportation; snacks and water on the bus; hotel room (double occupancy); dinner at a winery or restaurant; gourmet lunches on both Saturday and Sunday; all wine tasting fees; Port wine and chocolate on the way home. You and your entire family are invited to Reno South Rotary's Annual Family Picnic on Saturday, August 5 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Burnt Cedar Beach located at 665 Lakeshore Drive Incline Village, NV 89451 on beautiful, iconic Lake Tahoe. Kent Wood has reserved the "center" picnic area for us from 3-8 pm; however, the beach and pool facilities are available to Reno South Rotarians and their guests all day - starting at 7:00 am. The costs for entry into Burnt Cedar Beach and for use of the facilities are $16 for adults and $8 for youth ages 6-17 years of age. Children under age 6 are admitted free. Smoked B-B-Q spareribs, shrimp kabobs, and grilled steaks will be served as the mail entree along with side dishes provided by our members. Please plan to share your favorite "picnic" side dish as we gather together for a family-style dinner between 5:30-6:00 pm. Also, plan to bring your own beverages, or beverages to share. The cost for dinner is separate and is estimated to be approximately $25 for adults and $15 for youth. Please RSVP for you and your guest(s) by Saturday, July 29th to help the Annual Family Picnic Planning Committee to plan the appropriate amounts of food for all attendees.

Katie Freeman is the Manager of Entrepreneurial Development and Media Relations at the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada. In her role at EDAWN, she works to attract technology companies, helps local startups grow and scale, and produces events that bring the entrepreneurial ecosystem together. Prior to EDAWN, she worked as a reporter/anchor for KAME-TV and as a Key Account Executive for the USA Today Network. Katie is a member of the UNR Reynolds School of Journalism Dean’s Advisory Board and on the marketing committee for the Downtown Reno Partnership. Katie and her husband Matt own Sierra Mattress Company, in Reno, and love how the area embraces and supports locally owned businesses. In her spare time, she enjoys remodeling, baking and interior decorating.

Stacy Graham joined Auburn Daybreak Rotary in 2000, which transitioned into Sierra Passport Rotary in 2017 and in 2018 she transferred to Auburn Gold Country Rotary. At the Club level, Stacy has held may chair positions and leadership roles, but none has given her more satisfaction and joy as Club President. She enjoyed it so much she has been Club President x3.
Within Rotary District 5190 Stacy has served as Vocational Chair 2012-15 & 2019-22, Facebook Chair 2013-present, Assistant Governor Area 5 2017-2020, Co/Conference Chair 2017, partner to Past District 5180 Governor Ray Ward 2019-20, Chair for Vibrant Club Workshop, facilitator for RLI, and a few other positions.
Stacy is a proud member of the Bequest Society, Paul Harris Society, Polio Plus Society, she is a Paul Harris +8, Major Donor and member of District 5190 Triple Crown.
Stacy’s passion in Rotary is Vocational Service, which is also the reason she chose Rotary. Rotary International is the only non-profit in the world that recognizes Vocational Service and places value each members classification.
Stacy was born, raised and still lives in Grass Valley CA. She owns and operates The Master Technicians, Inc. & Roger’s Automotive Repair, Inc., both located in Auburn CA. In her profession, Stacy has received awards for her pioneering/mentorship with women in the Automotive repair field and was the 2013-14 Auburn Journals Businesswoman of The Year.
Stacy and her life partner, Brian Milhous, often spend time working outdoors, cooking, listening to music or just enjoying life with lots of laughter.
Stacy says the Rotarians have touched her heart in the selfless giving of their time, treasures and talents. Service Above Self is in every action she sees Rotarians doing.
