Last Weeks Program (March 4)

Ben Birkinbine, PhD -  UNR Reynolds School of Journalism & Center for Advanced Media Studies: The 1st Amendment (What Every Citizen Should Know).

If you missed this program, you missed a very knowledgeable and engaging speaker.  And congratulations are in order--Dr. B just received tenure at UNR!  Hopefully we can have an encore.  Of all the information provided, what stood out as most important is that the text of the 1st Amendment (contrasted with judicial interpretation and practice) protects three major categories:
  • Religion
  • Speech and Press
  • Assembly and Petition of Grievances
