Elliott Parker,  Professor of Economics &
Associate Dean, University of Nevada College of Business:  “The State of Our Economy."
Dr. Parker is a well-regarded speaker and professor.  He earned a Ph.D., Economics, and M.A. at the University of Washington–Seattle, and B.B.A., Business Systems Analysis, University of Texas–Arlington.  He is part of Affiliated Faculty with the Ozmen Institute for Global Studies, and published Nevada's Great Recession in 2017.

Among the many items discussed and explained about the impact of Covid-19 on the economy was that in Nevada:
  • 90% of the economic decline was  reduction in the service economy
  • unemployment worst in the country
  • The General Fund is down 15% relative to original financial forecast
  • Governor requested 12% across the board cuts
  • Pres. Biden's Covid bill was not designed to stimulate spending, but provide relief
  • Economic effects of the virus are bifurcated--those of least means hit hardest, most means receive gains.
