January 5, 2021!

Speaker January 7
District Governor Roberta (Berta) Pickett

D.G. Roberta presented an engaging view of District 5190, RSR's contributions to the District, long-term goals for Rotary International and more.  Key points included:

Silent Rotarian - Megan Reese.  Never in the spotlight, always there in the background, contributing to Rotary and our Club.
Heart of Service Award - Kyle Whaley.  Shall we count the ways Kyle contributes to the club and community?  We don't have time, really.

Congratulations to you both!

 - D.G. Roberta reminded us that Rotary is a JOurneY that changes lives, for those we serve and also for our own. It is the journey, as well as the destination, that gives joy through the many opportunities it offers.

- Since its inception, RSR has contributed $1,415,695 to the Rotary Foundation.

- In 2019-20, RSR achieved both the 100% The Rotary Foundation Sustaining AND the Every Rotarian Every Year Awards

- As part of your JOurneY, ask yourself:

How have I changed a life through Rotary?

How has Rotary changed my life?

This week's Program (Jan 7):
Where We've Been & Where We are Going.....

Co-Prez Bob will lead us in a review of RSR's accomplishments since the beginning of pandemic restrictions, and a discussion of where we are headed through the end of the Rotary year.  This is a celebration, and an opportunity to re-focus on our club's mission and activities together.

The program will begin with a brief presentation by Diaz Dixon, CEO of Eddy House, who will update us on Eddy House's status since he visited us in August 2020--there are many improvements and successes since then!

At their request, our club committed to a sock drive to help Eddy House in the holiday season.  Our initial goal was 100 pairs of socks.  RSR donated more than 325 pairs of socks, and $1,435 in gift cards from 6 local restaurants to provide special meals for Eddy House.  Thank you Rotarians!

But there's definitely more to celebrate - join the meeting Thursday.
