March 29, 2019

Yo, Adrienne!

Meeting Notes from 3/28

Speaker:  Dr. Robert Watson
Topic:  The Future of Medicine - Functional Medicine

Introduced by long-time friend Holly Bromfield, Dr. W was noted as the last person to see Holly's gall bladder!
RSR members in attendance learned some very interesting facts about the practice of medicine in the USA.  According to Dr. Watson, 90% of the disease in our country is chronic, and is the result of multiple medical issues.

Functional medicine is a more holistic approach, and is personalized, science based and is not "alternative medicine".  Nor is it pharmacologically based.  Our speaker also discussed epigentetics (sic?)--those things that influence your hormones, and affect disease.  You can actually use your results from 23 and Me to obtain information that can be leveraged in your medical care.

More about the meeting...
