Nevada's Dark Skies

Kirk Peterson of Friends of Nevada Wilderness provided a very vivid illustration of Nevada's backcountry and where his organization has tracked areas where the skies are darkest throughout the state. He also illustrated where ambient light from man-made sources "pollute" the skies.

March 29 - 5th Tuesday @ 4 p.m. (formerly Thursty Thursday)

Vocational Tour at the UNR Earthquake Engineering Lab with Prof Elfass. Park on the top level (Level 5) of the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex on S. Virginia Street just south of Lawlor Events Center and the new E.I. Wiegand Fitness Center and walk to the Earthquake Engineering Laboratory (EEL). UNR Parking and Campus Map will be sent to you as a separate attachment!

AFTER THE SHAKE: All members are invited to attend a gathering at the Little Waldorf (back bar room) at 5:00 pm, whether or not they attend the Vocational Tour, to have a conversation about where RSR is headed, and what happens after June 30, with the beginning of another Rotary year (yay Co-Prez Tori and Press!). Look for an email from President Bob with details.
