May 1: Spring Community Service Project - Planting Trees at Washoe Lake State Park

A few hardy Reno South Rotarians and family members joined the Boys Scouts, Trees R Us and a Carson City Passport Rotarian to plant trees in Washoe Valley State Park. Holes were dug, dirt filled in, stakes pounded into the (not too hard) ground, irrigation installed and chicken wire put into place to protect our precious trees from hungry critters. Great to see you Alex Lepe and son Mateo!

Fred Lokken, Dept. Chair of Political Science, TMCC

A Recognized political pundit for Nevada Politics, regional & national politics, Fred Lokken has served 27+ years at TMCC in numerous administrative and teaching positions, including Dean of the WebCollege Academic Support Center. He was also Trustee for the Washoe County Library District in a time of important transition.

Please join us in welcoming Fred to talk about "What's Happening in Politics" including the Nevada Legislative session, the recall in California and the Biden administration.

Upcoming RSR Programs and Events

May 13 - Achievement Beyond Obstacles Student Presentations. This year's students have overcome a lot--BE THERE to support them as they tell us about their obstacles, achievements and goals and compete for scholarships.

May 13: (evening) Rotary Donors Celebration, Ian Risley keynote speaker on the new area of focus for Rotary: the Environment. (note date correction from May 15)

May 20: Yale Spina, What's Happening at Sky Tavern??? You won't believe it!
