Meeting  November 16
Strategy party

May be an image of 8 people, television and table

Twelve members gathered for food, drink and -- strategizing.  Liz Heiman led the meeting, expanding from our visioning session earlier in the year.  Our club is rebuilding, and we all have a say in what kind of club we want to be.  Special thanks to Kyle Whaley, who assembled all the information from the earlier visioning session into a format more easily used.

Interact Training
Liz Heiman led an Interact Training for students from Wooster High School on November 9.  Alas, our Galena students were unable to attend due to food poisoning and ride issues.  There will be another training after the first of the year--consider participating and meeting future Rotarians.
November Service Project
Reno South Rotarians packed boxes at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada on  November 9.  A big thank you to our participants--Press and Dolores Clewe, Heidi and Bill Howe, Karen and Chris Wagner, Kate Nickolls, and Leslie Adams.

January Service Project

We will gather at the Reno Sports Complex (2975 N. Virginia) on Sunday, January 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help recycle holiday trees, assisting Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful.

The Rotary Club of Reno South has regular meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month @ 4:00 p.m.

 What's Up Next?

December 7 - We are holding Club elections, which must be completed by the first of the year.  Also, President Heidi will share important information developed at our strategy party.  We are a rebuilding club, and this is our chance to decide just what kind of club we want to be. Since Heidi is leading the meeting, we know it won't be dry and boring!

Nominations are President - LaVonne Brooks, Secretary - Leslie Adams, Treasurer - Bob Stewart.  Board nominees are Kyle Whaley, Jonnie Pullman, Denny Williams, Liz Heiman and Kate Nickolls.  There are openings on the Board - nominations will be taken from the floor.

This is the last day to gather the holiday gifts for our adopted family.
The wrapped and tagged gifts must be delivered to the Children's Cabinet by Saturday, December 9 between 10 am-12 pm.  If you have a gift and cannot attend on December 7, please call Jonnie (775.240.3426) to arrange for pick-up.

It may seem from the online list that most requests have been filled, but there is always a need for small personal items or a grocery gift card.

Dec 21 - Dark? - We are still looking for someone to organize a holiday party!  Let President Heidi know your ideas or step forward!

Some RSR Future Events

January 7, 2024 - Loren Acton, Astronaut and Physicist.  Loren is a Sparks Rotary Club member, and their representative on the ABO Board.  He will share his experiences and insights from orbiting the earth for a week.
