Program January 14

Geoff Cochran, Rotary Foundation Annual Giving Officer Zones 26 & 27

Geoff Cochran began his presentation by introducing himself and his career in nonprofit administration and management. He is one of eight Annual Giving Officers who work out of Rotary International's headquarters in Evanston, IL and whose territories cover all of North America.

He informed us that Rotary International recently added a seventh Area of Focus...the Environment. As a result, millions of dollars funding global grants to support environmental sustainability projects are being approved this year.

He also pointed out that The Rotary Foundation received the highest rating of four stars from Charity Navigator for the 13th consecutive year.  Charity Navigator is an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S. Essentially, 92% of all donated funds are spent on program awards and operations. The rating reflect Charity Navigator's assessment on how the Foundation uses donations, sustains its programs and services, and practices good governance and transparency.
