Program July 7

July 7 -The Tag Team (Press and Tori) began their/our Rotary year in our new location, The Claim Jumper. We were joined by incoming presidents from Reno Central, Reno Midtown and Reno Sunrise. Thank-yous to the members who let us know they would not be there--there were a few Covid sufferers, and travelers. Let's keep the attendance up so we can get good programs.

We are movong toward a billing system where members pay dues and recognition $$ (fines) via credit cards directly on line. In the meantime, checks and cash are always welcome! We are also developing new check-in procedures. All meals and beverages are individually ordered and paid for by each member

Tori DellaRocca rang the bell in honor of daughter Dylan's participation in mutton-busting at the Reno rodeo.

LaVonne Brooks rang the bell in honor of the launch of HSI's software that they are marketing

Jonnie Pullman rang the bell in honor of helping her son Max buy a house.

August 6, Annual Reno South Rotary Picnic at Burnt Cedar Beach in Incline Village. Price to be determined asap. Bring your appetite and good humor to our semi-potluck (BBQ ribs, shrimp as the main course). Come early and enjoy the beach, main course served at approximately 4 p.m. Kent would appreciate help with this annual event. Please let him, Tori or Press know if you would like to help Kent and the Club.

Opportunity: Support Our Community

RSR is exploring buying a table at the annual Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful "Raise the River" event on August 18. It will be in Idlewild Park's Sensory Garden and food is by Mark Estee (Liberty Food and Wine). We need 8 seats at $150--the table would have wine, and RSR would get recognition. Interested? Let Jonnie (775.240.3426) or Tori (775.750.0088) know asap.

More info: Cocktails and NA beverages are hosted and located a five sensory tents to explore from 4:30-6:30. Dinner us at 7.

Beginning July 1, Reno South Rotary is going solo, returning to Thursday meetings at the Claim Jumper @4:15p.m.

Regular meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays. The 2d or 4th Thurs will be either a social or or service event.

Program July 14 - Service

Site Visit to Robinhood Park - Gather at 4:15

Matt Breviary, Reno Parks Maintenance Supervisor will join us and describe upcoming plans and possible projects for us to discuss.

July 21 - Due to a technology snafu, Bill Hauk from TMWA was unable to present the latest data on upstream drought reserves, projections for Truckee River flows and how all that relates to our community’s water supply. He's back!

July 28 - Bye week

July 28 - Reno Sunrise Mini Golf Tournament fundraiser. Details left.

August 4 - Dark (picnic on Saturday)

August 6 - Annual Reno South Rotary Picnic

August 11 - Dark

August 18 - TBD - Look left...

Sometime...we are exploring the possibility of a fall wine bus trip. Stay tuned!

Club Service

The Program Committee needs YOU! Meet via Zoom to share ideas and contacts for speakers, programs, vocational tours/visits, and service projects small or large. Let Tori or Press know if you want to help--it's fun, and you can contribute to RSR's success. Good programs mean good attendance, which increases membership.
