The gang gathered at Lead Dog's new brewing facility at 305 E. Glendale in Sparks, with delicious Mexican food from a local food truck:
 
 
After imbibing various brewed offerings (the image below is of all their canned offerings...)
Chris Whitcomb lead us on a tour of the new facility which includes investments of more than $1 million in equipment.  In addition to the location on E 4th, which will become the nexus for new experimental brews, Lead Dog operates with 10 staff, including brewers, sales and bartenders.  They also have a cornhole league on Thursday nights...

October 31 - A Nevada Day Celebration: One Woman's Story.  Lisa-Marie Lightfoot is part of the award-winning Nevada Women's History Project, affiliated with UNR and founded in 1995.  Come and celebrate our great state and its stories.

Dan Carne is looking for a second host family for our current RYE student. This host family will take over December 2nd and must live in the Galena High School zone, altho they need not be Rotarians.  Scour your contact lists so that our student can remain in the US and a new family can have a terrific experience.
 
Merve Hickok is affiliated with the Northern Nevada International Center, a part of UNR.  She announced that American Youth Ambassadors are being sought for 2020 summer exchanges. The Youth Ambassadors Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State. The program aims to develop a cadre of young adults, ages 15-18, in the U.S. who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, and an awareness of current and global issues. Exchanges will occur with Brazil, Belize, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Uruguay. Deadline for applications is Wednesday, November 6 at midnight-EST.
