Our speaker on Thursday was V. Taylor Russo, Director of Member Engagement for the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce--ably substituting for his boss who was called to jury duy.  (He inconveniently does not have a picture to be found anywhere!) The Chamber is 1,500 members strong, and growing, after revamping it's mission to focus on

 - Advocacy for it's members
 - Informing its members including forums and educational classes
 - Connecting its members to each other, including special events
 - other perks too numerous to mention

He also explained how the Chamber benefits the community at large and partners with other organizations.  It is 100% member funded, and does not receive government grants.
Dave Galloway,Past President (1992), is the Rotarian of the Week
Dave came to Reno from Las Vegas  to serve as an Executive at the MGM (now the Grand Sierra).  Completing his stint there, he opened a non-digital sign business, which he sold in 2007.  He joined RSR in the '80's as a way to get out of his office and meet new people--but obviously got hooked on the service opportunities and great RSR members!

Dave is an avid singer, both in his barbershop quartet and in his church choir.  His fun fact is that altho he is now a baritone, was the highest soprano at his middle school in New Jersey...
