Brierley McCubbins, Animal Keeper and Education and Public Outreach Manager of the Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary in Reno shared a video and information about Animal Ark, a very unique attraction in our city. A sanctuary for animals who need rehabilitation or cannot be returned to the wild, Animal Ark's vision is to inspire environmental stewardship through wildlife education. Animal Ark educates tens of thousands of children and adults a year about ecological principles and wildlife by providing special programming events and educational tours.

Sounds like a field trip...

What's Ahead for RSR

Based upon the most current information, after June 30 Reno Central and Reno South will no longer meet jointly. RSR's intrepid committee (Prez Bob, Prez-elects Tori and Press, VP Denny, and PP Jonnie have been diligently scouring possible locations. Altho the Committee thinks it has an outstanding location beginning in October, we need an interim location, and believe we have found one! More info on this later.

Also, strongly under consideration is moving our meeting time to 4:00 p.m., which may attract the younger crowd. Please let your Board members know your thoughts on this idea.

There will likely be a future visioning meeting--all will be asked to participate.

Talisker Whikey Atlantic Challenge - Solo!

You may recall Owen Gray speaking to us some time ago about his plan to row solo across the Atlantic...well, he did it!

On Tuesday, Owen--just the 10th American to ever complete the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge, solo--will fill us in on his challenge. The 56-year old rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, arriving into English Harbour in Antigua on February 21st after 70 days 19 hours and 29 minutes at sea. Owen will share his experiences while participating in this unique challenge. You won't want to miss this program and guest speaker!
