Meet our Youth!

What a wonderful meeting! Four outstanding students shared information about their involvement and appreciation for Rotary. From left to right:

Anika Schauss spoke about Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE)--her exchange was in Italy. She is the current President Elect for the new Rotary Club of International Exchange, and pursuing a B.S. in Political Science and Anthropology at UNR.

Maddie Hadwick is a senior at Galena, and the "instigator" for the new Interact Club RSR is sponsoring at Galena High School. She hopes to study International Economics

President Heidi (in case you didn't recognize her because it's been awhile since you attended a meeting)

Nasir Webb is a graduate of Sparks High School attending TMCC. He shared his experiences as a Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening (RYLA) attendee. He is studying to be an aerospace engineer.

Ivan Lopez Padilla is a sophomore at UNR, and spoke about his experiences as an Achievement Beyond Obstacles scholarship recipient.

- We enjoyed a visit from our past member Dave Galloway.

Paying it Forward (or Celebrations):

- Joel Muller celebrated the birth of his and Leslie's second grandchild.

- Jonnie Pullman paid it forward for a hiking and solar eclipse-watching trip to the Ruby Mountains.

November Service Project

Reno South Rotarians are packing boxes at the Food Bank tomorrow, November 9. Thank you to our participants!

The Rotary Club of Reno South has regular meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

November 16 - RSR Strategy party - 4 pm - 6 pm--stay and fraternize until 7 p.m.

It will take place at Jonnie Pullman's house, 6180 Carriage House Way. Please let her know you are coming to get the gate code! (775.240.3426) This is our next step planning our club's future together. If you missed the visioning session, be sure not to miss this.

Any RSR member who wishes to participate the programs with these students, or wants to learn more about Interact is welcome! December 7 - Club elections, important information for next year, and a mini-fireside (informative, but fun). This is the last day to gather gifts for our adopted family.

Dec ?? - We are still looking for someone to organize a holiday party! Let President Heidi know your ideas or step forward!

December Service Project

We have our family for the holidays--a single mom with 3 children--daughters ages 7 and 17, and a son age 15. You will receive a more detailed service email about the family and their wishes, with information on what we can help them with. One member has already secured gift cards by using credit card points! We will wrap and put name tags on each gift.

International Happenings:

Every year in January a Rotary Club in India hosts a mega-polio campaign, coupled with a tour of (parts of) India. If you are interested, Jonnie has the information. 775.240.3426
