RSR continues to support the Veteran's Guest House.  Come learn about this important service in our community.

 

Did you know....
 
Reno South Rotary started the Most Improved Student Program 20 years ago.  It is now Achievement Beyond Obstacles, and supported by 3 other local Rotary clubs.  This year ABO has budgeted to award more than $36,000 in scholarships?
 
That Reno South Rotary built Robinhood Park and donated it to the City of Reno?  It was a vacant lot full of spent needles and trash, and a magnet for drug deals.  Now it is a lovely gathering place for families with play structures and barbeques.
 
After our cleanup as part of Rotarians at Work Day on April 27, the City of Reno will resurface the basketball courts, restoring the park to pristine condition.

April 25 - Achievement Beyond Obstacles (ABO) Scholarship Luncheon. 
Students enrolled in  the Achievement Beyond Obstacles Scholarship Program will deliver their "talks" celebrating their achievements and plans for the future.  Some of these students will be awarded scholarships . 
 
This is an inspiring program, and one to invite anyone interested (or if you want them to be interested...) in what Rotary does.
 
You will receive a request to RSVP for this event so we can be sure to have the correct amount of seats and food.

Volunteer Opportunity Wed, April 17

STEM Night
April 17th, 2019
6pm - 7pm
 
The students and their families will be building VEX IQ robots. Each family will be given a kit to build a robot. It's my understanding that there may be a few different models. We are being asked to go from table to table and assist as needed.
