Tour of Ormat Technologies' Geothermal plant in south Reno. 
 
Meet at the US Bank parking lot at the Summit Mall by 12:10 pm. Bring a sack lunch or eat before the tour.
 
The first tour is limited to 25 persons. An overflow tour will be scheduled at 2:00 pm, if necessary.

Remembering Dr. Bruce Pendleton
The memorial service honoring the life of Dr. Bruce Pendleton will be held on May 17th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Snows Church (1138 Wright Street - Reno).  Doug has given us a pass to skip any District Conference activities in order to attend this memorial service.

Know Your Rotarian With Paul Harris +8
 
LaVonne Brooks participated in President Doug's "Know Your Rotarian" game.  Lavonne has been the CEO of High Sierra Industries (now iCelerate) for 18 years, and first came to RSR at the invitation of Denny Granata.  She was inspired by Rotary's campaign to eradicate polio--her dad suffered polio.  Originally from Alburquerque, she has a husband, a daughter and 2 grandchildren.  This meeting she was presented with her Paul Harris +8 Rotary pin.

Since being founded 5 years ago, the TMPF has grown to encompass 8 programs including Discover Your Parks Walks and the Student Stewards Program, a STEM program where students conduct citizen science in the parks.  To learn more about TMPF, click the link below.
