Sharon Honig Bear

Art as an Economic Engine

Sharon Honig-Bear is currently the Chair of the Reno Arts and Culture Commission. She has a long history of community service that includes past President and board member of the Historic Reno Preservation Society, where she founded the very successful Harvest of Homes Event. She served for almost two decades as the Development Director of Washoe County Library. She is a published writer and researcher, currently with a regular column for ediblereno-Tahoe magazine. She will share with us how Art can serve as an economic engine for our community.

Reno South Rotary Beer Booth!!!!!!!

Our Reno Rodeo Beer Booth Fun(d)raiser is June 18-23. A successful booth enables us to do our community projects--we can make as much or more than $6,000 if each of us contributes a little time and a lot of talent.

We are paid a small hourly amount for each persons's labor + all the tips! Please sign up now either on line or at the meeting.

We have special need for weekend sign-ups!

Art Rangel

Nevada's New Jobs

Art Rangel is a certified City Planner with over 35 years of experience in Economic Development, City Planning, and Redevelopment.

He will speak on Nevada's new jobs.

We had a great group last Thursday the 7th! Let's keep it up!

Recognitions included:

Heidi Howe - $100 for all the election fal-der-al (and she invited us to her watch party tonite!) A generous Rotarian paid the recognition on her behalf for stepping up to the plate and running for office.

Jan DeAngeli rang the bell for showing up!

Past Prez Justin Taylor - $25 for showing his pictures of trip to Ireland

Kyle Whaley - $10 for a 30th wedding anniversary

Melany Denny - rang the bell for a trip to Italy, where she learned new things about her 20-something year old son

Patty Ireland - rang the bell for son's wedding and his honeymoon in Italy

Pete Sanborn - $50 for a trip to San Diego to be with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Megan Reese - $10 for anniversary or birthday???

Tori DellaRocca - for discovering her toddler Dylan drinking from the goat trough at the home farm
