 Rotary Theme for March:

Water and Sanitation

March 16 Meeting Recap:

Unfortunately, our scheduled speaker, Isabella Landete Martinez, contracted covid and was in quarantine at the time of our meeting.  Luckily, Mindy Hsu, a Midtown Rotarian who has participated in Rotary back to her time in RYLA) stepped in and provided a heartwarming presentation on Project Amigo.

Mindy and her son recently spent a week participating in Project Amigo's program in Mexico, and her experiences about the Project's accomplishments mirror those of the Reno South Rotarians who spent a week there in 2011.  One of the aspects of the project was installing clean water dispensers at the orphanage in Colima--definitely a connection to the Rotary theme for the month!

May 18 - Club Visioning

The Visioning process assists clubs in identifying a positive and productive future for their Rotary Club. It might be best described as the first part of a strategic planning process in which a Vision for the future is developed. Please SAVE THE DATE and plan on participating in this Club Visioning for the future of Reno South Rotary!!  Will last approximately 3 hours.

District Events

April 28-30 - Gathering of the Clans, District Conference at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Highland Games.  Let's have a team!  Caper Toss (with pool noodles), Shot Put (with whiffle balls) Scotch Whiskey tasting doesn't require a team...added attraction: Bob Stewart will be wearing a Royal Stewart kilt!

Seriously, there are some terrific speakers this year, and the program leans to the (what your editor would term) non-stuffy.  Including the main speaker, Dr. John Francis, "Planetwalker" and a National Geographic videographer.

So sign up and join Bob, Tori, Press and more.
