News from October 10 Meeting:

Randy Van Tassell,  District Governor of District 5190 made his annual club visit this past week.

DG Randy's presentation included his vision of the role of the District Administration as that of a tandem bike where the clubs are in the front seat steering the direction in which they would like to go, while the district is in the back seat providing the power to get us there. He encouraged club leadership to ask the question "How do we plan to better serve our customers?" He believes that Rotary International has asked those questions and has come up with some innovative programs such as expanded membership categories and satellite clubs.

DG Randy shared the new Rotary International strategic vision of "Together we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe in our communities and in ourselves." Rotary's plan for the next five years is to:
  • increase our IMPACT
  • expand our REACH
  • enhance participant ENGAGEMENT
  • increase our ability to ADAPT
