You are invited to attend a very important ALL MEMBER MEETING of the Rotary Club of Reno South on Thursday, June 2nd at 4:00 pm at Claim Jumper Steakhouse located in the Redfield Promenade at the corner of South Virginia Street and Kietzke Lane - 4905 S. Virginia Street Reno, NV 89502. This meeting is being held on our traditional meeting day of Thursday and at 4:00 pm, a NEW time which your Board of Directors believes will allow more of our members to attend weekly meetings in the future. We are also holding this ALL MEMBER MEETING in a NEW location, which your Board believes will be a great venue for our club to meet after June 30 when we will no longer be holding joint, weekly meetings with the Rotary Club of Reno Central at Atlantis. Hors d'oeuvres,water and ice tea will be provided OR you may order other food and beverages off the menu to suit your tastes. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Here is your opportunity to contribute to the Rotary Club of Reno South by volunteering to take tickets during the Resistol Reno Team Roping Championship scheduled on Saturday, June 18 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center located at 1350 N. Wells Ave. Reno, NV 89512. We need 6 volunteers for each of the two shifts throughout the day. The first shift runs from 7:00 am to 11:00 am with the second shift scheduled from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will take place in the indoor arena on the rodeo grounds. Please sign-up by going to the volunteer secion of this event and choosing which shift you would like to volunteer. The Bob Feist Invitational organization pays Reno South Rotary $900.00 for our time and efforts for the day, so please participate and help with this fundraiser! |

Our guest speaker next week will be Bill Hauck, Water Supply Supervisor and Hydrologist for Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA). Bill's topic will be "Water Year in Review" during which he will present the latest data on upstream drought reserves, projections for Truckee River water flows, and how all that relates to our community's water supply. So, bring all of your questions on how TMWA plans for drought years like this one. |

You, your spouse, kids and grandkids are invited to the Reno South Rotary ANNUAL FAMILY PICNIC scheduled on Saturday, August 6 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Join us as we gather at Burnt Cedar Beach located on Lakeshore Drive between the Hyatt Regency Resort and State Route 28 in Incline Village. Kent Wood has reserved the primary picnic spot (down front and center) for the entire day, so bring your family as early as 9:00 am and enjoy the atmosphere of the world's only Lake Tahoe! Admission is $16 for adults 18 years old and older; $8 for persons ages 6-17; and children under age 6 are free. In addition to the picnic grove and this pristine beach, admission also includes access to an olympic size swimming pool. Bring your good humor and appetite to our semi-potluck outing (BBQ ribs, shrimp and steaks will be served at approximately 4:00 pm). Also, bring a side-dish to share with your fellow Reno South Rotarians and their families. A sign-up sheet will be available at our July 21 meeting at Claim Jumper to help us sort out the side dishes so there is a balance to the overall menu. So...come on up to the mountains to beat the triple-digit heat for a grand time. Also, think positive thoughts to eliminate any haze or smoke as in years past. This event is one of our Rotary Club's best traditions, which you are all invited to join in and ENJOY!!! |

Join us for our Reno South Rotary Club meeting as The Reno Jazz Orchestra tells us about their 17-piece contemporary big band based in Northern Nevada. The band was formed in 1997 by musicians who have performed with acts such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole, and Luciano Pavarotti and traveled the world with legendary performers. |

Reno Public Market

Join Reno South Rotary for our September 15th meeting where you'll get to hear about Reno's cultural epicenter opening this Fall. Reno Public Market is the city's newest spot for enjoying everything from their gourmet food hall to a community gathering place with art. Steve Schroeder will share their plans, announce their soft opening and get us excited about a new hotspot coming to our community. Meeting takes place at Claim Jumpers on September 15th at 4 p.m.

Our Midtown Rotary Club is organizing Beer and Ice Cream booths at the Reno Air Races this year and could use our help. The Air Races run from Wed. Sept 14 - Sun. Sept 18, 2022.
For every shift Reno South works, our Midtown partner will split tips and wages - so this is a good opportunity for us to raise money for our club as well!
If you have some time to give, we'd love to see you there. When you sign up, please indicate which club you are with so we can get credit for our volunteerism. Please also provide your phone number to coordinate the transfer of parking passes!

You, your significant other, and your guests are invited to cruise with your fellow Reno South Rotarians on the Annual Wine Tasting Trip. This year the wine bus will visit Lodi, CA departing from the Atlantis at 7:15 am on Saturday, September 24th. We will go to four wineries and possibly a fifth for a catered dinner or perhaps a restaurant. There will be a behind the scenes look at winery operations, and a gourmet lunch at a winery with imported cheeses and Italian cold cuts, salads, etc. Sunday we'll stop at Lockeford Meats. Feel free to purchase any of their famous sausages or other products (we'll have ice chests on the bus to keep your products cold for the trip home). We will then visit four or more of the club's favorite wineries from our prior trips to Amador and El Dorado Counties, in the foothills. ETA back to Reno is 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 25th. Cost will be approximately $300-325 per person, double occupancy, and includes: Roundtrip bus transportation Snacks and water on the bus Hotel room (double occupancy) Dinner at a winery or restaurant ALL wine tasting fees Gourmet lunches on both Saturday and Sunday Sunday's lunch will also include fresh grilled Lodkeford sausages Breakfast at the hotel on Sunday morning Port and chocolate on the trip home The per person cost is based on a minimum of 35 persons participating in this trip, so bring your significant other and a few friends as well.
