Swill is closing. Our new Reno South Rotary meeting location is the Club at Rancharrah until we find a permanent home.
We are sad to announce that Swill Coffee and Wine, our Reno South Rotary meeting location, is closing after more than 10 years. We couldn't be more disappointed.
Swill has been a fantastic gathering place for the Reno community and a perfect place for our meetings. Pete and Wayne created a place where people were welcome and where community organizations could meet without paying a fee for space. That meant that whether a knitting group, a game club or a Rotary club, we had a welcoming home at Swill. Pete, Wayne, and their staff made everyone feel welcome, and we will miss them.
This is one of those examples of out-of-town developers caring more about profits than communities. When they more than tripled the rent at Swill, Pete and Wayne just couldn't see how to make ends meet, so with less than a month's notice, they closed their doors. We will miss Swill and the staff.
